Researching Elsewhere

Beginning our walk in Kladow at 52°27'16.6"N 13°08'38.5"E on 20.08.24, we headed toward the studio. The following day, we began our walk in Karow at 52°36'57.8"N 13°28'18.1"E, again walking toward the studio. These starting points were chosen on peripheries of Berlin that neither of us had visited before. We imagined our walk to trace a line between these two points, points which lay on a circle- the center of which we could not picture.

Only after completing these journeys did we learn the center of that imagined circle lay outside the city entirely- imagined distances being smaller than expected.

Architectural structures and landscape textures encountered during our walks informed the development of movement sequences in the studio. Indoor studio sessions were used to generate choreographic elements.
