Round the Circumference [2019]

For the cartographer, the map is a place of exactness both of position and deeper meaning. This work looks at what can be extracted from mapping processes by questioning exactness, wondering what could happen if the cartographer was asked to map a location that is unknown. The work was presented in a darkened space, maintaining the sense of the unknown/unknowable for the audience.

Walking Score, No. 2

This score was created to manufacture conditions that illicit a sense of disorientation for the mapmaker. The focus is on a beginning with results left open for consideration. The middle, generative portion of the score is largely unformulated as the performer will effect a wandering journey toward their undefinable destination.
