STORM [2013]
Directly affected by Hurricane Sandy which struck New York City in 2012, Paradox Vested Relics continued with its Flip Side collection in creating clothing pieces that reflected a duality of Filipino and American identities. Taking this one step further, Paradox Vested Relics taught Joshua Seidner and I two Filipino folk dances, asking us to internalize their structures while the flood waters ebbed and new directions were found.
STORM premiered as part of Me Love You Long Time (MLYLT) [2013], an exhibition curated by Edwin Ramoran for Mills Gallery Boston Center for the Arts.
